Endowment
The Campaign for Chestnut Hill Academy focuses on two key endowment-related areas:

Faculty

Great teachers have been the heart of Chestnut Hill Academy since its founding. Generations of alumni treasure their memories of such teachers and often return to campus for the sole purpose of reconnecting with a former mentor. Chestnut Hill Academy parents, both current and former, rank the dedicated faculty as one of the CHA’s most important strengths.

The Master Plan also recognizes that Chestnut Hill Academy’s distinguished faculty is one of the its greatest strengths. It states that the CHA’s future greatness depends upon providing the compensation necessary to continue to attract and retain the finest teachers. The Plan urges an increase in endowment to support faculty salaries and an increase in the professional development budget.

Our effort to support the tradition of great teaching at Chestnut Hill Academy faces a growing challenge, as a national shortage is increasing the competition for qualified professionals committed to a rigorous, personalized approach to education. An increase in the endowment of faculty compensation is essential to sustaining Chestnut Hill Academy's standing as one of the leading independent schools in the region and beyond. Therefore, the Capital Campaign has a goal of increasing the endowment of faculty compensation.

Chestnut Hill Academy makes funds available to teachers for professional development, such as graduate study, conferences, and workshops. Such funds are recognized as a tool to retain teachers, nurture their talent, and attract qualified new candidates. They are an element essential to job satisfaction.

Financial Aid/Scholarship

A great strength of Chestnut Hill Academy has been the diversity of our student body, diversity reflective of the world in which we live. Our community is based on ability, achievement, and character, not privilege. By strengthening our financial aid program, we will assure that the inability of families to pay full tuition is not an impediment to a child’s attending and to our fulfilling our educational mission. Greater access to financial aid provides a vital service to all in our community by promoting a talented, even more diverse student body that enriches our school environment. The Master Plan identified increased endowment for financial aid as one key objective in building the kind of community Chestnut Hill Academy values.
