Headmaster's Greeting
welcome to Chestnut Hill Academy!

Here you will find a teaching community dedicated to helping boys grow into great men. By “great” I mean young men who are intelligent and capable, with the confidence and courage to do the right thing, and the humanity to care about more than themselves.

At CHA, we believe that boys should be inspired toward excellence, and we know that they excel best in an environment that understands and supports them. Our close-knit school community ensures that each boy is known, valued, and appreciated for who he is. His efforts and contributions are recognized in ways that motivate him to continually reach further and higher.

Our comprehensive program—a mix of challenging academics, competitive sports, team-building outdoor activities, and creative
expression—ensures that each boy has the opportunity and support he needs to explore and push his innate gifts to the fullest. Here, excellence is both a goal to be achieved and a path to be followed--by everyone, in everything we do.

Whether it’s all-boy classes in the early grades or coed classes in the upper grades, CHA students are at ease in the classroom. A strategic partnership with our neighboring sister school, Springside School for girls, enables us to offer something truly unique in the Delaware Valley region—a learning experience tailored to each stage of a student’s development. Whether they are 8 or 18, our students are supported by a curriculum, faculty, and classroom environment that offers exactly what they need, when they need it. This makes for confident and engaged learners—ready to take risks, eager to excel.

When a student comes to CHA, he joins a community that is committed to seeing him grow into the man he is meant to be. Here he will find teachers who are mentors and friends, and classmates who are more like brothers. Here he will learn the lifelong lessons and rewards that come from daring to try and giving one’s best.

I encourage you to tour our website, visit the school, and learn more about our dynamic program and welcoming community. I think you will be excited by the many opportunities we can offer your son, and by the kind of young man he can become at CHA.

Best regards,

Frank Steel
