Welcome to Chestnut Hill Academy!
We hope that your online experience of CHA will encourage you to learn more about us. With nearly 150 years’ experience in educating young men, we know how to tap the best in boys, helping them reach their potential through a challenging and supportive learning experience that inspires, rather than demands, excellence.
Here are some of the things that distinguish a CHA education:
-
A Curriculum Designed with Boys in Mind
CHA’s carefully sequenced curriculum, informed by our understanding of how boys learn, grows as our students grow, evolving from all-boys classes in the lower and middle grades to fully co-educational classes in the upper grades.
-
Education Grounded in a Respect for Our Diversity
Our diverse student body encompasses young men of many different backgrounds and aspirations. Whether a student is a budding historian, physicist, or engineer; musician, writer, or painter; wrestler, runner, or ball player, he will find himself at home here, where teachers and staff are committed to preparing each young man for lifelong success and personal fulfillment.
-
A Close Community in Which Teachers are Role Models and Classmates, Brothers
A close bond exists among CHA students, across all ages and interests, forged through their common experience of our close-knit community, tradition-rich school history, and strong values system. Here, teachers are more than intellectual standard bearers; they are mentors, role models, and friends; and classmates are more than just buddies; they are brothers.

The Benefits of 2 Schools in 1
At CHA, we like to think big while staying small. Through our strategic partnership with neighboring Springside School for girls, we are able to ensure that our students enjoy all the benefits of a small-school environment as well as all the advantages of a big-school academic program. By combining our upper school faculty, student body, courses, and facilities, CHA and Springside have created a single academic powerhouse fully equipped to prepare our students for college and beyond.
These are just a few of the ingredients that make a CHA education unlike any other. We are proud of the young men who graduate from Chestnut Hill Academy. They are men of quality and integrity, the kind of young men the world needs more of-intelligent and capable, with the confidence and courage to do the right thing, and the humanity to care about more than themselves. In short, CHA students are great men in the making. I invite you to visit us and see for yourself whether this is the school for you.
