Inquiries
Families interested in investigating the Academy in consideration of applying are welcome to visit campus. Parents, with or without their sons, may attend an open house or make an individual appointment for a campus tour with a Student Guide and a meeting with the Director of Admissions. To make a reservation for an Open House (requested but not required), or to schedule an individual appointment to visit, please contact the Admissions Assistant at 215-247-4700, ext. 1133. If you would like to request admissions information by telephone or have any questions about the admissions process, please feel free to call the Admissions Assistant.

Applicants
If families already know they wish to apply for admission, then the aforementioned steps are not necessary as a campus tour, and both parent and student interviews with the Director of Admissions are part of the following application process.

  • Complete the application and return with your non-refundable fee of $50.
  • Forward the confidential recommendation forms to two current teachers.
  • Additional recommendations are welcome from coaches, advisors, or others.
  • Forward the transcript request form to your son’s current school.
  • Schedule a day-long (two days for applicants to sixth grade) visit for your son. During the visit, there will be two admission interviews and a required essay.
  • Schedule a parent interview. A student-led tour will be scheduled at this time if you have not already visited campus.
  • Register and have your son take either the SSAT or ISEE national exam.

Please contact the Admissions Assistant to schedule all interviews, visits, and tours. It is the responsibility of the applicant to secure all necessary documentation required to complete the application for admission, and to conduct any necessary follow-up. The Admissions Office cannot legally obtain these documents for you and due to the volume of applications is not able to contact you regarding missing materials. Families are, however, welcome to contact the Admissions Assistant at any time to confirm the receipt of materials.

Ideally, all steps should be completed and material received before December 19, 2008. Initial decisions are mailed on Friday, January 30, 2009 to those candidates whose application is complete. Subsequent decisions are made on a rolling, space-available basis.
